Submissions for Mississippi Review 53.3 will open May 15-June 30, with a publication date of Winter 2026.
Though we are open to reading any Fiction, Nonfiction, and Poetry, we are particularly interested in nature-themed pieces for this issue.
Winter Issue
The Mississippi Review Prize usually opens in August. We award prizes of $1,000 in Fiction, Nonfiction, and Poetry. Winners and finalists make up the contest issue, published in Summer.
All contest submitters receive a copy of the Summer issue.
Contest Issue
Check our Submittable page below for more information on our current calls for submissions. We do not accept submissions through email.
We prefer to receive submissions through Submittable. If you are unable to access Submittable, however, we are happy to consider submissions through mail. Send mailed submissions to the address below with a cover letter (including contact information) and your submission fee as a check ($3.00). We do accept multiple submissions at a time. Each additional submission requires its own submission fee.
